We are Bernardo and Marta, friends and partners in the Selvabella project. We are both trained biologists, originally from Tuscany and Galicia.

At Selvabella, we found the ideal place to bring these interests together and create a hospitality project rooted in nature, food and the life of the home. Bernardo takes care of the kitchen and the pleasure of sharing food around the table, while Marta handcrafts the ceramics that are part of everyday life at the house.

Dogs have always been part of Selvabella’s story. Corso, Nala and Terra were with us during the first years of the project. Today, Mini, Pandora and Petra share our daily life at the house and are often the first to welcome our guests when they arrive. After years of working in the study of invasive species and small-scale fishing, we chose to turn our passions for cooking and ceramics into a new way of life.

Selvabella is also a place that aims to be open, inclusive and free from all forms of discrimination and oppression. We are proudly LGBTQ+ friendly and antifascist, and we stand in solidarity with Palestine and Ukraine.
